Veteran Pro’s Career-Best Payday Surpasses Nearly All Previous Seasons

Veteran pro earns second-highest payday of his career.

Julien Guerrier has had a rollercoaster of a career since joining the DP World Tour in 2005. Recently, though, he’s been playing some of his best golf ever. At the 2024 Andalucia Masters, he won his first DP World Tour title after an epic nine-hole playoff against Jorge Campillo.

This victory was not just any win; it brought him a whopping $552,500 (€508,079), marking the biggest payday in his long career. In fact, this prize money is more than what he earned in almost all his other seasons combined!

Over the years, Guerrier has bounced between the DP World and Challenge Tours. His first full season on the main tour was in 2011 when he made €172,304.91 but ended up ranking 122nd and had to go back to Q-School. Although he got back on track for 2012, he spent several years on the Challenge Tour before making a comeback in 2018 with earnings of €454,244.

Since then, he’s consistently earned over €150,000 annually. In 2023 alone, he nearly hit €1 million! Now with this recent win at Andalucia Masters , his prize surpasses all but one of those previous seasons.

Fans might think it’s about time Guerrier got such recognition for his efforts! By winning at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande and cutting through tough competition like buttered toast (unexpected metaphor alert!), he’s now ranked 18th in the Race To Dubai standings.

As we look into 2024 and beyond for Guerrier—who’s already made cuts in most tournaments—he seems poised to break past that elusive €1 million mark again. What do you think? Will Julien keep up this momentum?
