Understanding the FedEx Cup Fall

The FedEx Cup Playoffs have wrapped up, and now it’s time for the FedEx Cup Fall series to shine.

This series is a set of eight PGA Tour tournaments from September to November. It helps golfers ranked 51st and below secure their spots for the 2025 season.

Points from the regular season and first Playoff tournament carry over into the Fall series. Winning these events gives players 500 FedEx Cup points, a two-year exemption, and spots in major tournaments like The Players, The Sentry, the PGA Championship, and The Masters .

How Does The FedEx Cup Fall Series Work?

The top-125 players in the final standings get full playing rights on the PGA Tour for the next term. Those who finished between 51st and 70th at the FedEx St Jude Championship already have their cards secured by reaching the Playoffs. Players ranked 126th to 150th after the RSM Classic earn conditional status but can improve or regain full status through Q-School.

Everyone aims to finish as high as possible in rankings. The top-10 players not already eligible for Signature Events qualify for Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Genesis Invitational after The Sentry in 2025. Players inside the top-50 can still compete in these final eight events for prize money, world-ranking points, and titles.

Fans might think this adds an exciting twist to an already thrilling season.

Players like Tom Kim (51st), Justin Rose (55th), and Min Woo Lee (60th) have much at stake during this closing series. However, those finishing inside the top-50 after BMW Championship can’t collect more FedEx Cup points to improve their position further.
