Top 6 LIV Golfers to Bet on at Troon

There are 17 LIV Golfers playing at The Open Championship this year.

This is the largest group from the team golf tour to make it to a Major in 2023, with previous appearances at The Masters, US Open, and PGA Championship.

Among them, eight have won a Major before, and four are past Open champions like Henrik Stenson who won in 2016 after an epic battle with Phil Mickelson.

While Stenson and Mickelson aren’t favorites this time around, Cameron Smith (last year’s champion), Brooks Koepka (always strong in Majors), and Bryson DeChambeau (best performer this year) are worth watching.

Bryson DeChambeau – 14/1

DeChambeau’s odds of 14/1 seem generous given his stellar performance in Majors this year. He deservedly clinched his second US Open title last month at Pinehurst No.2 after a dramatic bunker shot on the final hole that left Rory McIlroy disappointed but fans thrilled by his skill.

Runner-up at the PGA Championship and T6 at The Masters, DeChambeau has been consistently impressive. His T8 finish in The Open two years ago shows he can handle links golf too. Only McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler have better odds than him right now.

Jon Rahm – 25/1

Jon Rahm hasn’t had the best luck in Majors this year—T45 at The Masters, missed cut at the PGA Championship, and couldn’t play the US Open due to a foot injury. However, he was runner-up last year behind Brian Harman and T3 in 2021.

Despite not winning any LIV events yet, he’s placed top-10 every time he’s played. If he can bring that form into Majors again, he could be a great each-way bet even if you don’t think he’ll win outright.

Tyrrell Hatton – 30/1

Does Tyrrell Hatton have what it takes for a Major win? With just one top-five finish out of 37 Majors played so far, it’s hard to say definitively. Yet he’s recently won on LIV Golf and ranks high in birdies and putting stats there—could this be his breakthrough?

He’s also won twice at Alfred Dunhill Links which suggests he knows how to play well by the seaside even if it’s not quite on par with an event like The Open.

Cameron Smith – 40/1

Brooks Koepka might be tough to rule out as a five-time Major winner but hasn’t looked sharp lately; instead consider Cameron Smith who excels on links courses despite not following up his T6 finish at The Masters earlier this year very strongly elsewhere since then.

Smith remains one of LIV Golf’s best putters—and among world leaders overall—in short game skills making him worth backing especially given his attractive odds!

Abraham Ancer – 150/1

Moving into higher odds territory: Joaquin Niemann may be good value but Abraham Ancer offers more bang-for-your-buck being priced three times lower yet having two top-10 finishes under his belt compared against Niemann’s zero so far!

Ancer secured victory during Hong Kong’s recent event while qualifying through Final Qualifying rounds held Burnham & Berrow ensuring spot sixth consecutive appearance here invaluable experience indeed!

Fans might find these picks surprising considering their varied performances lately but that’s part excitement isn’t it?

Dean Burmester – 150/1

Big-hitting Dean Burmester from South Africa knows both how win tournaments compete effectively within major settings alike! Following consecutive wins last season plus April’s LIV title eye-catching T12 placement during PGA Championships proves point further still third participation showing capable handling challenges posed by such prestigious events length accuracy crucial factors determining success ultimately though don’t count him out just yet!
