Tony Bellew Scores Albatross in BMW PGA Pro-Am

The BMW PGA Championship is happening this week at Wentworth’s West Course, featuring top players like Rory McIlroy.

Despite the star-studded lineup, former boxing champ Tony Bellew stole the spotlight in Wednesday’s Celebrity Pro-Am.

Bellew played alongside Matteo Manassero, Sam Thompson, and Gwilym Lee. On his second shot of the day at the 473-yard first hole, he made an albatross !

The celebration was wild! His caddie wrestled him before Bellew did a forward roll and saluted the crowd. Then he picked up his caddie in a big hug.

Fans might think it’s amazing how Bellew achieved something many pro golfers never do. Even though he’s known for boxing titles, making an albatross at Wentworth is a huge deal.

In an interview last year, Bellew shared his competitive spirit: “I will not stop until I get a single-figure handicap.” Whether he has reached that goal or not remains unclear, but his recent performance shows he’s on track.

Other celebrities in the Pro-Am included Gareth Bale, Stuart Broad, Tom Holland, and Andy Murray with Robert MacIntyre.

The BMW PGA Championship runs from September 19 to 22. How do you think the pros will compare to Bellew’s amazing shot?
