Tiger Woods missed the cut at The 152nd Open Championship by eight strokes.
On Thursday, he scored a 79, and on Friday, he managed a 77 in tough Scottish weather. This marks the third time in four Majors this season that Woods hasn’t made it to the weekend.
After his round, Woods said: “Well, it wasn’t very good. I made a double there at two right out of the hopper when I needed to go the other way. Just was fighting it pretty much all day. I never really hit it close enough to make birdies and consequently made a lot of bogeys.”
Without wasting time, he left for Glasgow International airport on Saturday morning and flew back to America on his private jet.
Heading Home:
According to Radaratlas2’s X account, Woods’ plane took off from Scotland around 10am local time and headed towards Pontiac, Michigan. He planned to land near Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills after almost seven hours.

Fans might think it’s sad that Tiger didn’t make the cut again this season.
Charlie’s Debut:
Tiger’s son Charlie is set to debut at the US Junior Amateur next week. He qualified by winning an event at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Florida last month.
The tournament will feature 264 players from July 22-27 at Oakland Hills Country Club. This venue has hosted the US Open six times before and will do so again in future years.
Tiger’s Legacy:
While Charlie is new to this tournament, Tiger won it three times straight from 1991-1993. Tiger plans to support Charlie throughout the week as they prepare for one of their few remaining appearances together this year.
After another rough week at Royal Troon, Woods said he won’t compete again until December’s Hero World Challenge as he gets ready for what they call their “fifth Major” – the PNC Championship with Charlie soon after that.
Reflecting on missing The Open cut, Woods shared: “I’m not going to play until [December]. I’m going to just keep getting physically better and keep working on it.”
