Tiger Woods is set to play in the PNC Championship with his son, Charlie, starting December 21st.
After having back surgery in September, it was uncertain when Woods would return to playing golf competitively. He chose not to participate in the Hero World Challenge that he hosts in The Bahamas. Instead, he made an appearance on NBC’s broadcast during the final round and kept everyone guessing about his comeback by saying “we’ll see” regarding the PNC Championship.
But now it’s official! Tiger will join Charlie for their fifth time at this event, aiming for their first win at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando. Fans might be thrilled to see them both back on the course together. In previous years, they came close to victory, finishing second behind Team Daly in 2021 and sharing fifth place last year.
Excitement Builds: Father-Son Duo Returns
Woods expressed his enthusiasm about returning with Charlie: “I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie,” he said. “Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.” This sentiment adds a personal touch that fans love.
Joining Team Woods are defending champions Bernhard Langer and his son Jason. Other notable players like Nelly Korda, Gary Player, and Annika Sorenstam will also compete. It’s shaping up to be a thrilling tournament!
