Tiger Woods Absent From Jupiter Links TGL Match vs Bay Club

The TGL is heating up with three crucial matches at the SoFi Center next week, and there’s one surprising name missing from the lineup – Tiger Woods.

It’s the first time Woods won’t be suiting up for Jupiter Links GC as they face The Bay Golf Club in a must-win match.

Jupiter Links is in a tough spot right now. They’re sitting in fifth place with just two points, right outside the playoff picture. The pressure’s really on, especially since they’re going up against The Bay – who haven’t lost a match all season.

Without Tiger, the team’s hopes rest on Tom Kim, Kevin Kisner, and Max Homa. They’ll face off against The Bay’s strong lineup of Min Woo Lee, Shane Lowry, and Wyndham Clark.

Woods’ last appearance wasn’t one to remember. Jupiter Links took a brutal 10-3 loss to New York Golf Club, and Tiger had an awkward moment when he misjudged a yardage by about 100 yards.

He’s had a busy week off the virtual course too. Tiger was at the White House meeting with President Trump, working on plans to bring together the divided men’s golf world. He even stuck around for a Black History Month reception with the President.

The other matches are just as interesting. Los Angeles Golf Club, sitting in second place, is bringing in Tony Finau for a one-match deal since Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood couldn’t make it. They’ll take on New York Golf Club’s team of Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Rickie Fowler.

And don’t forget about Monday’s matchup. Boston Common Golf, stuck at the bottom with just one point, is sending out their big guns – Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, and Hideki Matsuyama. They’re facing Atlanta Drive GC’s powerhouse trio of Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel, and Patrick Cantlay.

Tiger’s got just one more chance to play before the playoffs – March 4th against Atlanta Drive GC. But first, his team needs to prove they can win without him.
