Golf fans are about to experience The Players Championship in a whole new way. Starting in 2025, viewers in Los Angeles and Dallas can watch the tournament as if they’re actually at TPC Sawgrass, thanks to groundbreaking technology from entertainment company Cosm.
These aren’t your average sports bars. We’re talking about massive, specially-designed venues with 87-foot LED domes that make you feel like you’re right there on the course.
The Hollywood Park location in LA opened its doors in July 2024, while Dallas’ Grandscape venue followed a month later. Atlanta and Detroit are next on the list.
“We’re thrilled to deliver a new way for golf fans to experience The Players Championship like never before,” says Peter Murphy, Cosm’s senior vice president of content and media.
Here’s what makes it special: These venues use cutting-edge camera positions and massive screens to create what they call a “shared reality” experience. Imagine watching the tournament’s most dramatic holes – the 16th, 17th, and 18th – from angles you’ve never seen before.
The best part? Tickets start at just $11.
Each venue has two main areas. “The Dome” puts you right in the middle of the action with its huge curved screen, while “The Hall” offers a more traditional viewing experience with wall-to-wall LED displays.
But it’s not just about watching golf. These places are turning into full-on entertainment destinations:
– Custom food and drinks
– Official tournament merchandise
– PGA Tour 2K25 gaming stations
– A Dryvebox simulator in LA where you can actually try hitting shots to the famous island green
Chris Wandell, the PGA Tour’s senior vice president of media, is pretty excited about it all. “The final three holes at TPC Sawgrass present one of the most well-known settings in sports,” he says. “This adds to our continued efforts to elevate that experience in dramatic new ways.”
The technology’s already proven popular with other sports. Fans have been packing these venues to watch NFL, NBA, NHL, and even Premier League matches from thousands of miles away.
For golf fans who can’t make it to Florida, this might be the next best thing to actually being there.
