TaylorMade has welcomed Logan Olson, a talented putter designer from California, to its team.
Olson is known for creating custom blade putters and will now be the Principal Designer for his products at TaylorMade.
He gained attention when Scottie Scheffler used one of his putters to win the Hero World Challenge last year.
Logan Olson’s Growing Influence
Soon after Scheffler’s victory, Nelly Korda used an Olson putter at the PNC Championship, followed by Collin Morikawa at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March. Even Tommy Fleetwood was seen with an Olson model before the RBC Heritage. Fans might think it’s exciting to see so many top players choosing these unique putters.
TaylorMade plans to expand Olson’s work on professional tours with more blade and mid-mallet designs, making it easier for their Tour Representatives to fit top players efficiently. While there are hints of a possible consumer release, nothing is confirmed yet.
TaylorMade’s Successful Year
This year has been great for TaylorMade’s mallet putters on tour. Scottie Scheffler won eight times using his Spider X putter, while Nelly Korda switched to a Spider X before her seventh LPGA win of the year.
Rory McIlroy also stuck with a Spider X model this year, winning three times and securing the Race to Dubai title. Meanwhile, Tommy Fleetwood opted for a unique TaylorMade Truss model recently.
Creative Collaboration
Brian Bazzel from TaylorMade praised Logan Olson’s creativity and technical skill as remarkable. He said that whether you’re a pro or just love golf, Olson’s work resonates with everyone who appreciates finely crafted putters.
Olson himself admires TaylorMade’s willingness to take risks and feels connected to their innovative spirit. He values feedback from top players as it helps push design boundaries further.
A new Craft Batch No. 3 model by Olson will soon be available in the US and Canada on December 5th for $850 through his website only. This limited edition features a ‘Flumber’s Neck,’ combining plumber’s and flow neck designs in blade putters.
