Si Woo Kim Emulates Tiger Woods With Walk-In Putt At Presidents Cup

Team USA and Team International were tied 5-5 as day three of the Presidents Cup began.

The morning four-balls would decide who led going into the afternoon. Team USA won the first two matches with scores of 2&1 and 3&2, but Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim defeated Keegan Bradley and Wyndham Clark 4&3. Si Woo’s winning putt was reminiscent of Tiger Woods.

The US team started strong, winning the first two holes and then the fourth with a birdie, bringing them to just one down. However, after wins at the seventh and eighth holes, Kim and Kim were up by three.

Afternoon Foursomes Drama:

Despite losing the ninth hole, they won again on the tenth. Several ties followed until they reached the par-4 fifteenth hole. With everyone else in for par, Si Woo had a chance to secure a point for his team .

He struck his putt confidently; it seemed destined for the center of the hole. Before it even dropped in, he took off his cap and walked towards it—a move that fans might find quite bold!

This moment reminded many of Tiger Woods’ famous walk-in victory over Abraham Ancer at Royal Melbourne in 2019. That clip is arguably one of the most viral moments in Presidents Cup history.

As they headed into the afternoon foursomes session, Team International trailed 8-6. Captain Mike Weir decided not to change his lineup from that morning’s four-balls despite some negative feedback. But considering their strong performance on Friday with a 5-0 win in foursomes, fans are hopeful they can close this gap before Sunday’s singles.

What do you think? Will Team International make a comeback?
