Rickie Fowler has shared the joyful news of his second daughter’s birth, Nellie.
He posted on Instagram with a picture of himself, his wife Allison Stokke, their first daughter Maya, and the new baby.
“My Family!! Right where I’m supposed to be. Welcome to the crew Nellie,” he wrote in his post .
Fowler’s Journey as a Dad
Rickie became a dad for the first time on November 18, 2021. His two-year-old daughter Maya and wife Allison were present at April’s Masters Par-3 Contest, which he won. During that same week, Rickie announced they were expecting another child in the summer.
Fans might think it’s heartwarming to see such family moments shared by athletes.
In another Instagram post, Rickie showed off a photo of Allison and Maya dressed in white caddie boiler suits from the Masters. “Maya with shoes ready for her baby sister…we’re excited to be a foursome later this summer!” he captioned it.
Taking Time Off for Family
Rickie revealed to Golfweek that their baby was due on August 4th and mentioned taking a break from golf after The Open in July to await the birth. This explains why he’s not playing in this week’s Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club.
The tournament is crucial as it’s the last chance for players to make it into the top 70 of the FedEx Cup standings and qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship Playoffs.
Before this week’s event, Rickie was ranked 104th in the FedEx Cup standings but still had a slim chance of making it into the Playoffs. With those chances now gone, he can focus on spending quality time with his newborn before gearing up for the FedEx Cup Fall stage starting in September.
