The Americans are leading the Europeans in the Solheim Cup after Friday’s morning session.
Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz won against Esther Henseleit and Charley Hull, while Ally Ewing and Jennifer Kupcho defeated Celine Boutier and Albane Valenzuela.
Lilia Vu and Sarah Schmelzel added another point for the USA by beating Linn Grant and Carlota Ciganda 3&2. Europe got their first point when Emily Pedersen and Maja Stark won 2-up over Ewing and Kupcho.
Afternoon Fourballs
In the afternoon, eight players will compete in both sessions. Let’s see who will be playing.
### Team USA
#### Nelly Korda
Korda, paired with Corpuz in the morning, secured a 3&2 win. In the afternoon, she teams up with Megan Khang. Korda has played 13 Solheim Cup games with eight wins. Despite not being on a winning team yet, she’s setting an example.
#### Rose Zhang
Zhang had a tough start in 2023 but shined on Friday morning with a 3&2 win alongside Kupcho. She pairs with Andrea Lee in the afternoon to face Grant and Hull, hoping to maintain her form.
#### Lauren Coughlin
Coughlin impressed on her Solheim Cup debut alongside Zhang. She’ll play both sessions on Friday, teaming up with Schmelzel in the afternoon fourballs.
Fans might think this lineup is strong enough to keep America’s lead intact.
#### Sarah Schmelzel
Schmelzel joins Coughlin again to face Pedersen and Stark. With seven top-10 finishes this season, she aims to continue her good form.
### Team Europe
#### Charley Hull
Hull lost her morning match but hopes for redemption in the afternoon fourballs with Grant. She’s experienced with six wins in fourballs out of nine matches.
#### Linn Grant
Grant also lost her morning game but looks to improve alongside Hull against Lee and Zhang. Her excellent performance in 2024 should boost her confidence.
#### Emily Pedersen
Pedersen returns for the afternoon after winning her morning match with Stark. They were dominant early on and eventually won 2-up. Pedersen has six wins in Solheim Cup history.
#### Maja Stark
Stark pairs again with Pedersen to face Coughlin and Schmelzel. Both teams won their morning matches, making this clash exciting to watch.
