Plane Crash Lands on California Golf Course

A small plane crash-landed on a California golf course on Sunday.

Security footage captured the dramatic moment at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento. The single-engine Piper PA28 plane, which had taken off from nearby McClellan Airfield, came down around 1:15 PM local time.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the pilot was alone on board. According to the Sacramento Fire Department, he walked away with just minor injuries .

Unexpected Crash at Golf Course:

Fire department spokesperson Capt. Justin Sylvia shared that the plane experienced total mechanical failure at about 400 feet altitude. The pilot suffered only a small cut on his hand and no serious injuries were found after a hospital check-up.

Despite the course being active, no one else got hurt during the incident. One golfer was putting when he had to jump aside as the plane landed close by, eventually stopping near the pro shop.

Fans might think this is an incredible stroke of luck for everyone involved.

Haggin Oaks Golf Complex posted a statement on Facebook saying: “Earlier today, there was an unexpected plane crash on our golf course. Thankfully, no one was harmed, and the damage to the facility is minor. We are incredibly grateful to the first responders from the fire department and law enforcement for their swift and professional reaction.”

An investigation into why this happened has started by both FAA and National Transportation Safety Board.

Interestingly, in 2022, three adults and 53 dogs survived another plane crash on a Wisconsin golf course.
