Official Anthem of AIG Women’s Open

The R&A has announced a new anthem for the AIG Women’s Open called ‘Rising Up’ by Hayley May.

The final women’s Major of the year will be held from August 21-25 at St Andrews. Known for her work with DJ Joel Corry and others, May will perform on August 22 in the Festival Village.

Music and sports are coming together more often now . The R&A wants to use this event to inspire young people to love golf and its athletes. Following Ellie Goulding’s performance last year, Tom Grennan will headline this year at St Andrews.

New Anthem: ‘Rising Up’

Produced by Hayley May and WAVZE, ‘Rising Up’ is an energetic dance track meant to give the AIG Women’s Open a unique sound that fans will remember for years.

The song aims to connect with Gen Z golf fans by capturing the journey of top golfers striving for their dreams. The lyrics say, “No one can break me when I’m rising up.”

May shared her excitement: “I’m thrilled to be part of this track for the AIG Women’s Open. Creating ‘Rising Up’ was so inspiring. Women’s sport is growing, and we wanted that energy in our song. I can’t wait for everyone to sing and dance along this summer.”

Fans might think it’s cool how music is becoming a big part of sports events now.

Tickets are available at aigwomensopen.com starting from £20. Saturday tickets include all-day golf action plus entry to an evening concert for £55.
