Nelly Korda is getting ready for her Paris trip this summer.
She plans to defend her Olympic gold medal with teammates Lilia Vu and Rose Zhang. The competition will be held at Le Golf National near Paris from August 7-10.
Korda has already secured her spot in the Olympics due to her amazing performance this year, including five consecutive wins.
Excitement for Paris
Thinking about her upcoming trip, Korda shared that she’s most excited about trying croissants in Paris. She said, “I have never been to Paris, and the one thing I’m really looking forward to is the croissants probably on every corner. I love bakeries and baked goods, so that’s one thing I’m really looking forward to.”
Representing her country in the Olympics is also a big deal for her. “Obviously representing my country and getting to compete in the Olympics is such an incredible opportunity,” she added.
Fans might think it’s cool how much she loves food!
Playing at Le Golf National excites Korda too. She watched it during the Ryder Cup and can’t wait to play there herself.
When asked jokingly about how many croissants she’s had recently, Korda laughed and admitted: “I have definitely been crushing too many recently.”
KPMG Women’s PGA Championship
Despite missing cuts in two recent tournaments, Korda remains a favorite for the upcoming championship according to bookmakers. Her six wins out of ten starts make her a formidable opponent.
Reflecting on recent struggles, Korda emphasized focusing on positives rather than negatives. She said: “You can dwell on the negatives, but that will never lead you anywhere, so you try it look at the positives.”
She believes these challenges help her grow as a person and appreciate golf more deeply.
Handling Pressure
Regarding pressure from high expectations after an impressive start this year, Korda stated: “I feel like pressure is privilege… You can listen to outside voices but when you have pressure you can take it positively that you’re doing good.”
She aims to stay focused and confident while playing at Sahalee Country Club against 155 other players for a share of $10.4 million prize money.
What do you think? Will Nelly win again?
