Nelly Korda Dog Bite Incident Explained

Alison Lee shared that Nelly Korda got bitten by a strange dog outside a coffee shop in Seattle.

The bite forced Korda to skip the Aramco Team Series in London to heal and get better.

On Instagram, Korda wrote: “I regret to announce I must withdraw from next week’s Ladies European Tour tournament in London. On Saturday in Seattle, I was bitten by a dog and need time to receive treatment and recover fully.”

Korda also apologized to her fans and sponsors for missing the event, promising she’ll be back soon.

Lee knows what it’s like; she got bitten by her boyfriend’s rescue dog ‘Bear’ earlier this year. That incident left her with open wounds on her hand, leading to a hospital stay due to an infection called lymphangitis.

Lee’s Experience:

Talking about both their experiences, Lee said: “She asked me a lot about what my symptoms were when I got my dog bite.” Fans might feel worried hearing such news.

“My dog bite got seriously infected, so I was actually hospitalised for three days. But yeah, it’s an unfortunate circumstance and definitely scary. She got bitten by a dog that she didn’t know, it was just at a random coffee shop. I am hoping for a speedy recovery for her.”

Now fully recovered, Lee has earned over $325,000 this season and aims for more winnings this week.

Last October, Lee won the individual trophy at the Aramco Team Series Riyadh with the lowest 36-hole score ever recorded in the series.

But repeating that success will be tough with unpredictable British weather ahead—rain showers mixed with sun and wind are expected.

“The weather has been really nice so far,” said Lee. “The fairways seem pretty firm… but I’m sure it could get pretty windy here as the week goes on.”

As rain is likely later in the week too, she added: “I am just going to try and do my best to adapt.”
