Mohamed Salah Liverpool Star & Golf Enthusiast

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has a surprising hobby off the pitch: playing golf.

Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, Salah has scored 159 Premier League goals in 265 games. He is one of the best players in Liverpool’s history.

With his global fame comes immense pressure to perform at every match.

When he’s not dazzling fans at Anfield, Salah enjoys family time, reading self-improvement books, and watching UFC. But one of his favorite ways to relax is hitting the golf course .

Salah shared with Sky Sports, “I do play golf. And I enjoy it a lot, on my last holiday I played golf. I’m not that good, but yeah I’m having lessons.”

Golf as a Relaxation:

During his summer break, Salah balanced fitness with some rounds of golf. However, he’s careful not to overdo it after advice from Liverpool’s medical team. “We had four weeks off and I played about two or three times,” he said. “I’m not a doctor but everyone here is telling me it’s not really good for the back, so I have to be careful.”

Fans might think it’s cool that even top athletes need hobbies to unwind!

Like many golfers worldwide, Salah finds peace on the course away from everyday stress. “The last two years I’ve been playing more because it helps take your mind away from football,” he added.

Salah isn’t alone in this passion; other sports stars like Harry Kane and NFL players also love golf. The sport has even featured prominently in events like The Match where Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce beat NBA stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson last year.

Finally, if you wondered about Salah’s archer celebration after scoring goals – it’s a nod to UFC fighter Israel Adesanya’s victory pose inside the Octagon.

So what do you think? Do you find it surprising that Salah loves golf?
