The 2024 Olympics are almost here, starting on July 26 in Paris.
Golf events kick off six days later with 120 players from 32 nations competing at Le Golf National.
Players qualify based on world rankings; the women’s roster will be finalized on June 24, while the men’s final spots were decided at the US Open at Pinehurst No.2 after a two-year process.
Despite eligibility for the top 15 male golfers worldwide, only four can represent each country. This means some top US players missed out even though nine ranked high enough. The chosen four are Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Collin Morikawa, and Xander Schauffele—who won gold in Tokyo’s 2020 Games.
Schauffele’s victory was memorable . Meanwhile, other big names have also secured their places. Rory McIlroy will play for Ireland alongside Shane Lowry. After narrowly missing a Major win at the US Open, McIlroy hopes to add another title before heading to Paris.
Fans might think this lineup is incredibly exciting!
