Major Winner Plans to Wind Down Competitive Career

Major winner announces retirement from competitive play.

After two decades of professional golf, Brittany Lincicome is stepping back to enjoy more time off the course.

She plans to reduce her tournament schedule after her home event in November, although she’s not fully retiring just yet.

In August, a moment with her daughter inspired this decision when she helped out at lunch during Kindergarten and realized there’s more to life than chasing golf dreams .

Changing Course

Following in the footsteps of Lexi Thompson and Ally Ewing, who both announced their retirements for 2024, Lincicome is also shifting gears. Even though she’s cutting back on tournaments, she’ll still play some events thanks to past victories like the Chevron Championship.

Fans might think it’s nice that she’s taking time for family while still keeping a foot in the game.

Nicknamed ‘Bam-Bam’, she had an amazing amateur career before going pro in 2004. Just two years later, she won the HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship by beating big names like Michelle Wie and Lorena Ochoa.

Her career boasts eight LPGA Tour wins, including two Chevron Championships and six Solheim Cup appearances where she triumphed four times. She even made history by playing in a PGA Tour event in 2018!

What do you think about Brittany’s new journey?
