Lottie Woad has clinched the Mark H McCormack Medal as the top female in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 2024.
This prestigious award, co-presented by the R&A and USGA, honors Mark H McCormack, a huge advocate of amateur golf and founder of IMG.
Woad is England’s first recipient of this medal, granting her exemptions to the US Women’s Open and AIG Women’s Open in 2025.
“I’m really happy to have won the McCormack Medal. It rounds off a successful year for me and I’m honoured to be named alongside the previous recipients of the medal,” Woad said. “It was always a goal of mine to reach number one and become the world’s leading woman amateur golfer. It’s taken a while to get there but it’s nice to see all the hard work pay off and achieve this milestone.”
Earlier this year, she became the first European golfer to win the Augusta National Women’s Amateur with an amazing finish, scoring birdies on her last two holes to edge out Bailey Shoemaker by one shot.
Her Recent Achievements:
She also secured three second-place finishes in various tournaments: NCAA D1 Women’s Championship, Florida State Match Up, and Collegiate Invitational at GCC. Last autumn, she triumphed at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Presented by 3M.
Fans might think that her winning streak is just getting started!
At month-end (August 30 – September 1), she’ll represent Great Britain and Ireland in the Curtis Cup at Sunningdale, aiming for their first victory against Team USA since 2016.
