LIV Golf Transfer Window: Team Updates & Developments

Overview of team changes in the LIV Golf Transfer Window.

The 2025 LIV Golf League is kicking off on February 6th in Riyadh, and there’s a lot of buzz about player trades and new faces joining the league. Big names like Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton made waves last year by switching to the PIF-backed circuit, raising questions if we’ll see similar moves this time around.

We already know most of the schedule, with Korea and Indianapolis now part of the tour. But while venues are set, teams still need players to fill their ranks. As of December 10th, some transfers have already happened: Thomas Pieters moved from RangeGoats GC to Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC. Plus, with the LIV Golf Promotions Event wrapping up on December 14th, at least one new player will join the league soon.

One notable absence is Eugenio Chacarra; he was dropped after finishing in the ‘Open Zone’ in 2024 and hasn’t signed with a new team since. Fans might wonder if more surprises are coming as other relegated players like Bubba Watson, Branden Grace, Kalle Samooja, Kieran Vincent, and Scott Vincent try their luck at the Promotions Event alongside Hudson Swafford.

Team Dynamics and Player Movements

Watson’s situation is particularly interesting—despite being relegated last season as captain of RangeGoats GC, there’s talk he might return based on a "business case." He’s played two Asian Tour events since then but didn’t make much impact.

Some teams have confirmed their lineups for next year; Ripper GC and Crushers GC are sticking with their current squads. But Fireballs GC, Cleeks GC, Legion XIII GC, RangeGoats GC, Stinger GC, and Iron Heads GC still need more players. Could we see unexpected changes before February?

Fans might think it’s exciting to see which players end up where!

As for wildcards and reserve roles? Anthony Kim remains a wildcard option while John Catlin has ties with multiple teams like Crushers GC and Smash GC. Ben Campbell also juggles between Legion XIII GC among others.
