LIV Golf Team Championship Quarter-Final Matchups Announced

The LIV Golf Team Championship quarter-finals are set to begin this weekend at Mardoe Golf Club in Dallas.

After 13 events, starting with LIV Golf Mayakoba and ending at Bolingbrook Golf Club, the team seedings for the championship have been finalized.

The top three teams—Crushers GC, Legion XIII, and Ripper GC—get a direct pass to Saturday’s semi-finals. The other teams will compete in Friday’s quarter-finals.

Quarter-final Matchups:

Higher-seeded teams chose their opponents for the quarters. Each matchup includes two singles matches and one foursomes session.

First up, Smash GC faces Iron Heads GC on Friday. Torque GC will play against HyFlyers GC, and Fireballs GC will go head-to-head with Majesticks GC. Stinger GC takes on Cleeks GC, while RangeGoats GC battles 4Aces GC.

For the first time ever, captains don’t have to play each other. Five captains decided to partner with teammates in foursomes instead .

Fans might think this new rule makes the game more exciting! Winning two out of three matches is key to advancing to Saturday’s semi-finals. The top three seeds will join these winners for another round of match-play before Sunday’s stroke-play final round where all scores count towards the team total.

The prize? A whopping $50 million purse with $14 million going to the winning team. Last year’s champions were DeChambeau’s Crushers GC.

Quarter-final matches start on Friday, September 20 at 11:15 am local time with a shotgun start.
