LIV Golf Team Championship 2024 Prize Money

Just a week after the last regular event of the LIV Golf season in Chicago, the circuit moves to Maridoe Golf Club in Dallas for the 2024 Team Championship finale.

Jon Rahm won $4 million last week and an $18 million bonus for topping the Individual Championship. Now, it’s all about the team standings as 13 squads compete for a $50 million prize.

Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC, which includes Anirban Lahiri, Charles Howell III, and Paul Casey, is leading this year after three wins. They are followed by Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII and Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC. These top three teams get a bye to Saturday’s semi-final.

The first two days will have match play with foursomes and singles matches. The final day will be stroke play to decide the champion. The winning team gets $14 million, second place gets $8 million, and third place takes home $6 million. Of each team’s earnings, 60% goes back into their franchise while 40% is split among players .

Fans might think this setup keeps things exciting right until the end!

Unlike regular events where wildcards like Anthony Kim and Hudson Swafford can join in; this championship has only 52 players across 13 teams. Top seeds like Bryson DeChambeau (Crushers GC), Jon Rahm (Legion XIII), and Cameron Smith (Ripper GC) start from day two due to their bye.

Teams ranked fourth to thirteenth start from day one with head-to-head singles or foursomes matches featuring stars like Brooks Koepka (Smash GC), Sergio Garcia (Fireballs GC), Dustin Johnson (4 Aces GC), Joaquin Niemann (Torque GC), Phil Mickelson (Hy Flyers GC), Louis Oosthuizen (Stinger GC), and Bubba Watson (Range Goats GC).

Team Earnings Distribution:

In regular events with a total prize of $25 million:

– Players share most of it ($20M)
– Teams get remaining ($5M):
– Winning team gets ($3M)
– Second place ($1.5M)
– Third place ($500K)

This money helps grow their franchises. For the Team Championship:

– Total purse is higher at ($50M)
– Winning team earns ($14M)

60% of any team’s earnings go back into building that team while 40% is divided among its players.

Last Year’s Champions:

In 2023 Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC won at Trump National Doral by beating Range Goats GC by two shots with DeChambeau scoring five-under-par 67.
