Mexico City’s about to host one of its biggest golf parties ever, with LIV Golf bringing its unique brand of entertainment to the historic Club de Golf Chapultepec from April 25-27.
The star-studded field includes Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Phil Mickelson, plus 14 major champions competing for both individual and team glory. But the real excitement for local fans? Their hometown heroes Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz are ready to put on a show.
This isn’t LIV’s first rodeo in Mexico – they’ve hit the beach at Mayakoba twice before. But now they’re taking things to a whole new level in the capital city, where crowds of 100,000+ aren’t unusual (just look at their recent event in Adelaide).
The course has some serious history too. Four straight WGC-Mexico Championships were held here from 2017-2020, and get this – every single winner is now a LIV player. Dustin Johnson took it twice (2017, 2019), while Mickelson (2018) and Patrick Reed (2020) each grabbed one.
But this isn’t just about golf. LIV’s bringing a full-on festival vibe to Mexico City:
• Live concerts from Mexican favorites Belanova and ALOK (the top-ranked Latin DJ in the world)
• Street food galore
• VIP experiences with that famous Mexican hospitality
• Interactive fan activities throughout the venue
The team competition’s heating up too. Ortiz’s Torque GC (led by current #1 Joaquin Niemann) is off to a hot start, but Ancer’s Fireballs have been even better, winning three of the first four events this season.
Want to be part of golf history in Mexico City? Tickets are on sale now. After what we saw in Adelaide, you might want to grab yours fast – these LIV events have a way of turning into something pretty special.
