Skukuza Golf Club in South Africa calls itself the “wildest course in the world,” and it sure lived up to that name recently.
The club, located in Kruger National Park, had closed for the day. Visitors were relaxing on the patio of the clubhouse, expecting a peaceful evening.
Instead, they witnessed an unexpected spectacle: two lionesses killed an impala on the 18th green and started eating it right there!
Wildlife Drama Unfolds
As if seeing lions wasn’t enough, things got even more intense. A huge crocodile soon appeared, heading towards the feast. The lionesses quickly ran off, leaving some of their meal behind. The croc then snapped its jaws and gobbled up what was left.
You’d think that would be enough excitement for one evening, but no! A group of hyenas showed up next. They circled around until one got too close and received a warning snap from the crocodile. After that, the croc settled down on the green to digest its meal.
Fans might find this kind of wildlife encounter both thrilling and terrifying at the same time!
Seeing dangerous animals on golf courses isn’t new; there have been rattlesnakes and alligators spotted before. But this scene was something else entirely.
The Rules of Golf even have a special rule for these situations: Rule 16.2 – Dangerous Animal Condition. It says you can get free relief if your ball is near a dangerous animal like venomous snakes or alligators because playing your ball could seriously injure you.
But clearly, Skukuza Golf Club takes “dangerous” to another level!
What do you think about playing golf with such wild company?
