Team USA’s Lilia Vu believes winning Olympic gold would be more special than a Major.
The two-time Major champ is set for her first Olympics in Paris 2024, aiming to follow Nelly Korda’s Tokyo triumph.
Vu thinks the honor of representing her country makes the Olympics even more prestigious than traditional golf awards .
Olympic Dreams and Patriotism
Vu shared, “That’s a good one I haven’t thought about. Hypothetical. To me, it would rank a little higher than a major… It’s the Olympics, which is the best athletes all over the world.”
She’ll join Team USA with Korda and Rose Zhang at Le Golf National. Though it’s her Olympic debut, Vu has already represented Team USA five times, including last year’s Solheim Cup.

Feeling intense emotions when donning red, white, and blue, Vu said: “I’m always so proud to wear red, white and blue… I get really emotional thinking about it too much.”
Fans might think this passion makes her an even stronger competitor.
For Paris 2024, both men and women will only play individual stroke play tournaments. However, many players like Vu and Jon Rahm want mixed team events from LA 2028 onwards.
Rahm expressed his thoughts: “…in the future… I would also like to see some team aspect in the Olympics… whether as a combined sport or us playing together…”
Vu agrees with Rahm’s idea. She mentioned how cool it was to play with Joel Dahmen last year and learn from him. Watching Xander warm up was also inspiring for her.
What do you think? Should there be mixed events in future Olympics?
