The 13th Junior Solheim Cup is set for September 9-10 at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia.
Europe aims for a third consecutive win to close the gap on the US, which leads with a record of 7-4-1 since 2002.
This event features two teams of 12 top junior female golfers (ages 12-18) competing over two days in different match formats.
The US team includes eight players from Rolex AJGA Rankings and four wildcards picked by Beth Daniel. Team Europe has six automatic qualifiers and six wildcards chosen by Gwladys Nocera. Notable players include Gianna Clemente, who topped the US qualifiers list and won the AJGA section of the LPGA Tour’s Mizuho Americas Open in May. She returns after her debut last year.
Asterisk Talley, another standout, finished 44th at the 2024 US Women’s Open at just 15 years old . She also defeated World No.1 Lottie Woad in the Curtis Cup singles match and played in last year’s Junior Solheim Cup alongside Elizabeth Rudisill.
Fans might think this lineup looks promising for a thrilling competition!
European Team Highlights:
Andrea Revuelta, an experienced player from Spain, holed the winning putt at last year’s Junior Ryder Cup and is ranked ninth in World Amateur Golf Rankings. France’s Louise Landgraf made history as the youngest LET Access Series winner at age 14 during the ANNIKA Invitational Europe.
Joining Landgraf are three more French players: Sara Brentcheneff, Alice Kong, and Lily Reitter—all automatic qualifiers.
