Jon Rahm Withdraws from LIV Golf Championship

Legion XIII GC faced a major setback before their semi-final match on Saturday as Jon Rahm had to pull out due to severe flu.

On Friday, Tyrrell Hatton stepped in for Rahm at the press conference, where it was announced that Rahm was resting.

Despite efforts, Rahm couldn’t recover and was replaced by John Catlin, who has previously filled in for Charles Howell III from Crusher GC.

Rahm recently won LIV Golf’s Individual title in Chicago, earning $18 million after beating Joaquin Niemann by three strokes. But now he won’t be at Maridoe Golf Club, where temperatures are soaring over 100 degrees!

Match Expectations:

Hatton shared his hopes for big crowds: “We want a good atmosphere to play golf in,” he said. “Walking down empty fairways isn’t fun.”

Legion XIII will face Phil Mickelson’s HyFlyers GC in the semi-finals. Despite his illness, Rahm influenced the decision to pick Mickelson’s team. Hatton mentioned they communicated via phone and WhatsApp.

Fans might think this news is quite surprising given Rahm’s recent victory.

Mickelson responded positively: “They’re really a great team (Legion XIII), and I obviously have a lot of respect for Jon Rahm and have been a fan of his for a long time.”

What do you think about Legion XIII’s chances without Rahm?
