Jon Rahm denies any regrets about joining the LIV Golf League.
A recent article claimed Rahm regretted his move to the PIF-backed league and wanted to return to the PGA Tour. This report quoted a veteran insider who believed Rahm would pay back the money if he could.
The insider said, “I am 100 percent positive that if Jon could give the money back to the Saudis and come back to the tour, he couldn’t write the check fast enough.” The source also mentioned that Rahm’s decision was a miscalculation, as now only four events per year draw significant interest in him .
However, in an exclusive chat with the New York Post, Rahm strongly denied these claims. He stated, “There’s zero validity to what any of that said. I don’t know where it came from. I don’t know why they feel the need to say that some of us are unhappy when we’re not.”
Rahm’s Journey in LIV Golf:
Fans might think it’s surprising how much buzz this news has created. Despite rumors, Rahm seems content with his choice and is excited about what lies ahead for his team and league.
Rahm reportedly earned around $550 million upon leaving the PGA Tour for LIV Golf. Although his start in LIV was strong with several top-10 finishes, he struggled at major events like The Masters (T45th) and missed out on others due to injuries.
Despite these setbacks, Rahm ended his Major season positively with a T7th at The Open Championship. He also maintained a solid record by finishing in the top-10 at every LIV event he completed and even won LIV Golf UK.
Currently leading the individual standings in LIV Golf while his team ranks second overall, Rahm expressed satisfaction: “I’m very comfortable with my decision… very eager for the future of my team and the league.”
Looking forward, Rahm will compete at LIV Golf Chicago where he’ll face tough competition from Joaquin Niemann for an $18 million prize. Afterward, he’ll participate in Dallas’ Team Championship before likely playing at Open de Espana on DP World Tour.
Lastly, both Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton aim to represent Team Europe again in Ryder Cup 2025 at Bethpage Black. Reflecting on this goal, Rahm shared: “It’s something so special [the Ryder Cup]… And hopefully I can be a part of the team.”
