John Daly Teases Happy Gilmore 2 Cameo & Release Date

More news has come out about the eagerly-awaited movie, ‘Happy Gilmore 2’.

John Daly shared that he will appear in the sequel with Adam Sandler.

Daly also mentioned fans can expect to see it in Spring 2025, almost three decades after the first film’s release.

Netflix announced on September 9 that “Happy Gilmore 2 is officially in production.” While they haven’t given a specific release date yet, Daly hinted it might drop around March or April 2025. When asked if Sandler had contacted him for a role, Daly said, “I’ve already filmed it. We’re getting it done… Coming out on Netflix maybe in March or April of next year.”

Plot and Cast:

The exact storyline remains mostly secret. However, we know Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) and Virginia Venit (Julie Bowen) will return. Fans are excited to see these familiar faces again.

Besides Daly, other pro golfers and NFL star Travis Kelce will make brief appearances.

Sandler gave a hint about the plot: “[Happy Gilmore 2] picks up from an older guy who’s played golf a long time. Some stuff goes on in his life; he’s different. He’s a bit of a mess when you meet Happy. And then we try to get his life cooking again.”

Fans might think this sequel could be even better than the original.

Filming locations include New Jersey spots like Farmview Golf Center’s mini-golf facility and various residential areas west of NYC. A beach scene features Sandler with just one golf club.

Most of the golf scenes will be shot at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, about 40 miles from Manhattan.

What do you think? Are you excited for ‘Happy Gilmore 2’?
