John Catlin Hits Hole-In-One at JCB Golf Club

The 17th hole at JCB Golf and Country Club is a beautiful but scary par 3, going downhill for 60 feet and stretching 240 yards.

John Catlin faced this challenge on Saturday and aced it, filling in for the injured Charles Howell III from Crushers GC. His shot landed perfectly on the green’s right side and spun into the cup, marking the seventh hole-in-one in LIV Golf history.

Catlin celebrated with high-fives to Patrick Reed and Ian Poulter on the tee box. Poulter had also witnessed Chase Koepka’s famous ace in Adelaide last year.

Starting his round at the 12th hole due to shotgun format, Catlin bogeyed both his opening hole and the 16th, putting him two-over for the day. But everything changed at the 17th!

Catlin’s Amazing Ace

Using an iron on this tricky island green, Catlin watched as his ball flew over a bunker, bounced off a slope, and rolled straight into the cup. Fans might think this was one of those unforgettable moments that make golf so exciting.

This ace was only LIV Golf’s seventh ever! Though it didn’t happen at the Party Hole where someone could’ve won $100,000, it still showcased Catlin’s great form in 2024. He recently performed well at The Open too.

Catlin aims to win both the Asian Tour Order of Merit and secure a spot in LIV Golf for next year. With shots like these, he stands a good chance of achieving his goals.

What do you think about John Catlin’s performance?
