Hannah Green emerged victorious at the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea, narrowly defeating Celine Boutier.
Boutier made a late surge with five birdies in her last seven holes, finishing with a six-under-par 66 and setting a clubhouse target of 18 under. Meanwhile, Green found herself tied with Boutier after two birdies and two bogeys but needed something special to pull ahead.
On the 17th hole, Green delivered an incredible approach shot and sank a five-foot putt for a crucial birdie. Her final challenge came on the last hole where she had to hold her nerve to sink a tricky three-and-a-half-foot putt for the win. This victory marked her third LPGA Tour win this season, earning her $330,000.
Thrilling Finish and Tournament Highlights:
Green’s first win of the season was also in Asia at the HSBC Women’s World Championship. Fans might think she’s unstoppable in that part of the world! Boutier finished second again after starting six shots behind; she pushed hard but ended up one stroke short, taking home $207,516.
Before Boutier’s dramatic finish, Chanettee Wannasaen seemed poised to challenge Green. She played an amazing front nine with just 30 strokes, including an eagle on the fifth hole from 142 yards out! But her momentum faded on the back nine due to bogeys on holes ten and seventeen, leading her to finish third at 17 under par.
Korean golfers Hye-Jin Choi and Yu Jin Sung shared fourth place while Haeran Ryu tied for sixth with Ashleigh Buhai from South Africa. The tournament was exciting overall but dragged on as some groups took over six hours to complete their rounds—quite frustrating!
🎯🎯🎯@hannahgreengolf with a beautiful approach to birdie 17 and take the lead by one with one hole remaining!
