LIV Golf League CEO Greg Norman says some players are worried about missing out on next season.
With only two events left, golfers ranked 49th and below might lose their spots unless they’re team captains. The top-24 players and 15 captains are safe for 2025, while those ranked 25th to 48th can switch clubs as free agents.
Scott Vincent, Kalle Samooja, Branden Grace, and Kieran Vincent are at risk of relegation. Hudson Swafford and Anthony Kim might be safe due to their ‘Wildcard’ status. Jinichiro Kozuma, Harold Varner III, and Pat Perez could also lose their places.
Pressure Mounts:
During LIV Golf UK (won by Jon Rahm), Norman warned that players need to “pull their socks up” or face losing their spots soon. He emphasized the importance of performing well in the remaining events.
Fans might think this adds extra excitement to the league.
Players have one last chance through the LIV Golf Promotions event later in the season—a three-day competition offering three LIV cards and a prize of up to $500,000.
Norman mentioned that more pro golfers want to join LIV Golf lately. He said there’s a lot of interest from players who fear missing out on joining next season’s PIF-backed circuit.

Norman added: “We had to create opportunities for new talent. There are players with FOMO right now wanting in.”
He continued: “Current players know others want in badly; they don’t want out.”
“I see it on driving ranges daily—practice rounds, first rounds—even this morning,” he said.
LIV Golf heads next to Greenbrier from August 16-18 before ending its individual season in Chicago from September 13-15.
