A major YouTube golf star just became a company owner – and Phil Mickelson couldn’t be happier about it.
Grant Horvat, who’s got nearly a million YouTube subscribers, announced he’s now an owner of Takomo Golf, a move that’s creating quite a buzz in the golf world.
“I never could have imagined when I started my YouTube golf journey that it would lead to this moment,” Horvat shared on social media. “Being an owner of a golf company has always been a dream of mine, and today, that dream becomes a reality.”
The 26-year-old social media sensation isn’t completely switching up his gear though. He’ll keep using TaylorMade’s driver, woods, and golf balls, while adding Takomo’s irons and wedges to his bag.
Phil Mickelson jumped in to congratulate his frequent playing partner. “This is so cool and I’m so happy for all your success,” Lefty wrote. “These clubs will help us dominate 2025 and our 2v2 series!”
That series, by the way, features Horvat and Mickelson teaming up to take on various celebrities and pro players – and it’s become quite popular with golf fans.
Takomo Golf’s been making waves lately. They’ve already got PGA Tour winner Wesley Bryan using their 301 CB and 301 MB irons, showing they’re serious about competing with the big names in golf.
It’s been a busy January for golf equipment changes. Just recently, multiple PGA Tour winner Max Homa made headlines by leaving Titleist for Cobra.
For Horvat, this move is about more than just equipment. “Golf has given me so much in life,” he said, “and Takomo’s mission aligns perfectly with my mission to grow the game.”
