Grant Horvat Hesitant on Potential PGA Tour Opportunity

Popular YouTuber Grant Horvat isn’t sure he’d say yes to a PGA Tour invite – even after winning a high-profile event at the famous TPC Sawgrass course.

The 26-year-old golf content creator just beat out some serious competition at the Creator Classic, taking the win in a playoff on the iconic 17th hole. But he’s keeping it real about his chances against the pros.

“There’s a huge, huge difference between me and the pros,” Horvat said. “I think people need to realize that.”

He sank a clutch birdie putt to win against Soly from No Laying Up and George Bryan VI on the Stadium Course’s back nine, just before The Players Championship kicked off.

That winning moment did light a spark, though.

“It fired me up a little bit after I made that putt to win it,” Horvat admitted on the Dan On Golf Show. “That felt really good versus just lagging that putt up there and hoping Soly misses.”

Some fans have been pushing for Horvat to try his luck on the PGA Tour after seeing him hold his own against top players on his YouTube channel. Other content creators like Luke Kwon and Taco Golf have already made the jump to pro events.

But Horvat’s taking a more measured approach.

“I’d have to look within myself and really see if I want to put myself back in one of those situations,” he said when asked about potentially accepting a sponsor’s exemption.

He’s no stranger to competitive golf. After playing Division II college golf at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Horvat has tested the waters in PGA Tour qualifying and mini-tour events in Florida.

But these days, he’s found his groove making golf content instead of chasing tour dreams.

“Right now, I just love doing YouTube videos,” he said. “The reality is that there’s a giant gap between me and the tour pros.”

The debate continues over whether social media stars should get spots in pro tournaments. Supporters say it brings new eyes to the sport, while critics argue these spots should go to deserving pros.

For now, at least, Horvat seems content letting his clubs do the talking on YouTube rather than the PGA Tour.
