The 2024 DP World Tour season is nearing its end, and the Race To Dubai winner will be crowned soon.
However, there’s another exciting prize up for grabs: a PGA Tour card for 2025.
This opportunity emerged from the ’10 Cards Initiative,’ a collaboration between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, offering top European players a chance to compete in America.
Matthieu Pavon and Robert MacIntyre were early winners of this scheme. Pavon clinched the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, while MacIntyre snagged victories at both the Canadian Open and Scottish Open.
Fans might think this is a great chance for new talent to shine on the big stage.
Current Standings:
Leading the pack is Thriston Lawrence from South Africa, who sits second in the Race To Dubai behind Rory McIlroy. Despite not winning any event yet, his four runner-up finishes have kept him ahead. Jesper Svensson follows closely with a victory at the Singapore Classic and three second-place finishes.
Niklas Norgaard surged up after winning the British Masters, just ahead of Sebastian Soderberg. Soderberg has been consistent but missed out on wins, including an extraordinary loss to Linn Grant at the Scandinavian Mixed.
Other contenders include Rikuya Hoshino (9th), Romain Langasque (11th), Rasmus Hojgaard (12th), Matteo Manassero (13th), Frederic Lacroix (14th), and Laurie Canter (15th). Notably, Tommy Fleetwood is already exempt.
Japan’s Rikuya Hoshino won at Qatar Masters in February and holds ninth place in Race To Dubai. Frenchman Romain Langasque follows closely with two runner-up spots and one third-place finish this year.
Rasmus Hojgaard narrowly missed out last year but looks set for redemption in 2024. Matteo Manassero’s career could see another high as he aims to maintain form until late November; he won Jonsson Workwear Open this year after playing on Challenge Tour last season.
Frederic Lacroix also graduated from Challenge Tour last term and won Danish Golf Championship in 2024. He holds one of the final PGA Tour cards just ahead of former LIV golfer Laurie Canter who left LIV earlier this year focusing on DP World Tour career; he triumphed at European Open in June but can’t compete until mid-February due to PGA rules regarding LIV golfers’ return timeline.
The next five closest eligible players include Guido Migliozzi, Tom McKibbin, Nacho Elvira, Ewen Ferguson, and Jordan Smith – all vying for their shot at glory too!
