DP World Tour Golfer Wins Beer for Hole-In-One

Golfer wins beer equal to his body weight after scoring a hole-in-one.

Strange and delightful rewards for a hole-in-one are nothing new.

In 2014, Andy Sullivan snagged a trip to space after acing at the KLM Open. Fast forward to the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters, Ugo Coussaud found himself with an unusual prize when he nailed a hole-in-one on the eighth hole during round one.

So, what did he win? After his impressive shot, Coussaud was awarded his body weight in Estrella Damm beer! He was seen posing with Sergio Ragel from Estrella Damm after completing his round on Thursday. The beer company tweeted that Coussaud received 85 liters of beer, which is about 180 pints. That’s quite a stash for the 31-year-old!

Fans’ Reactions:

While some might think this prize is awesome, others had mixed feelings. One person joked he’d prefer a car instead, while another commented it was too bad Porsche or BMW weren’t handing out prizes.

Coussaud’s ace wasn’t enough to keep him in the game; he scored two-under-par with a round of 70 but then slipped with a one-over 73 on Friday, missing the cut by just one stroke.

As the weekend approached at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, Jorge Campillo led at 15-under-par. Daniel Brown followed four shots behind at 11-under after rounds of 63 and 70.

Fans might wonder if this kind of prize is worth all those practice swings!

What do you think about winning your weight in beer? Would you be happy or hope for something else?
