Last week’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship had a huge prize pool of $10.4 million. This week, the LPGA Tour continues with the Dow Championship at Midland Country Club in Michigan.
The prize money is smaller but still significant for this unique team event. The tournament started five years ago as the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational.
Initially, the total purse was $2 million and has gradually increased over the years to $2.7 million last year . This year, it reaches a new high of $3 million, matching other big events like the Mizuho Americas Open and Meijer LPGA Classic.
In 2023, Cheyenne Knight and Elizabeth Szokol won by one point over Kelly Tan and Matilda Castren, earning $328,115 each. This year’s winners will get even more—$366,082 each! Besides money, there are world ranking points and 400 Race to the CME Globe points up for grabs.
