The PNC Championship is here, bringing excitement and competition to the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.
With 20 teams ready to play, big names like Tiger Woods and Nelly Korda are set to compete in this fun event. But how do organizers decide which tees the 40 players will use?
At this championship, there are four tee boxes: Gold, White, Red, and Blue. Players get assigned a color based on their age.
Tees and Their Assignments:
Starting with the Gold tees at about 7,100 yards, these are for male pros under 52 and family members aged 16+. Expect Woods, Justin Thomas, and Matt Kuchar here. The White tees are next at around 6,600 yards; they’re popular! Pros aged 53-63 and LPGA members play from here. This means Korda will be teeing off from these spots.
For those using the Red tees (6,000 yards), it’s for pros aged 64-72 or juniors aged 12-13. Meanwhile, Blue tees are slightly shorter for juniors under 11 or pros over 73.
Last year was exciting when Langer and his son Jason won with a record fifth title by scoring a final round of 59 for a two-stroke victory! Fans might think this duo is unstoppable!
Which tees will Charlie Woods play from at the PNC Championship? While not officially confirmed yet, last year he played from the White tees. Tiger mentioned that Charlie’s drives were flying farther than his own—some even reaching an impressive distance of 355 yards! So maybe he’ll be on Whites or even Golds this time.
What do you think about these tee assignments?
