Taylor Pendrith is leading the pack. He’s one step ahead as we head into the final round of The CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch. It’s a big deal because he’s on the hunt for his first PGA Tour title.
Jake Knapp, the Mexico Open winner, was leading after the halfway mark. He had a solid -14. But, after a third-round 67, he’s now trailing in second. Pendrith, on the other hand, rocketed to the top with a stunning Saturday 63.
The final group is a trio to watch. Pendrith and Knapp will be joined by American Ben Kohles. Just before them, Englishman Matt Wallace will be trying to crank up the pressure. Wallace, who was leading after the first round, and Kohles are both sitting pretty at 17-under.
The leaderboard’s looking tight. Alex Noren and Kelly Kraft are keeping things interesting at 15-under. They both kicked off with a 64. Their scores have been a bit of a rollercoaster since then, but they’re still in the mix.
And then there’s the rest of the top-10. It’s a mixed bag of talent with Kevin Tway, Vince Whaley, Byeong Hun An, and Troy Merritt. Merritt, in particular, turned heads with a 62 on Friday.
