Charlie Woods ended up in 103rd place in the 15-18 age group at the 2024 Future Masters, which was cut short to just 36 holes due to bad weather in Alabama.
The Future Masters is a long-standing junior championship in the US, celebrating its 75th year in 2024, with past winners like Stewart Cink and Hudson Swafford.
Held at Dothan Country Club near the Georgia-Florida border, the event had 232 players from Thursday to Saturday. But only two rounds were completed because of weather issues.
Event Highlights:
Before the final round started, organizers warned that any delays on Saturday would shorten the event. Some golfers finished a third round, but those scores didn’t count. In the end, Bed Shedd won with a five-under score after rounds of 69 and an impressive 66. He beat Brantley Moore and Drew Williams by two shots.
Woods shot rounds of 73 and 76 to finish nine-over par among those who made it through to the weekend. Paired with other sons of former Major champions during his first two rounds, he was three-over through eight holes on Thursday before birdieing the last hole for some momentum .
Fans might think it’s tough luck for Charlie given how well he played recently.
Starting his second round on Dothan’s back nine again, Woods struggled with double bogeys on holes 12 and 14 and a bogey on hole 17 for an initial score of +5 (40). Two more bogeys followed but a birdie on six helped him finish with a total score of +9 (149).

Woods began his third round on Saturday but couldn’t complete it due to bad weather. Just days earlier, he qualified for the US Junior Amateur by winning an event at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Florida.
Liam Curtis finished as T24 (+3), Henry Kuehne ended T73 (+7), while Jacob Immelman missed the cut (+19).
