The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is a must-watch on the DP World Tour.
This event is special because it’s played across three iconic Scottish golf courses: Kingsbarns, Carnoustie, and the Old Course at St Andrews. Another unique aspect is the team competition that happens alongside the usual 72-hole stroke play.
Each of the 168 pros teams up with an amateur. After three rounds, where everyone plays each course once, only 60 pros (plus ties) and the top 20 teams move on to the final round at St Andrews. The team’s score comes from whichever player has the lower net score on each hole.
This year, Michael Douglas joins in after his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones participated last year. Bill Murray also makes an appearance; he’s usually seen at Pebble Beach Pro-Am but will be here instead. Andy Garcia from Godfather Part III and Oceans 11 is playing too, along with Kathryn Newton who loves the Old Course.
Fans might find it exciting to see so many celebrities mixing with professional golfers.
From music, Linkin Park’s Dave Farrell, Bon Jovi’s Tico Torres, and Huey Lewis are all participating. Piers Morgan returns as a regular face at this event.
