Cameron Smith is set to compete in the BMW Australian PGA Championship this November at Royal Queensland Golf Club.
The 31-year-old golfer, originally from Brisbane, will also participate in the Queensland PGA Championship a few weeks earlier.
Adding these two events creates a trio of home tournaments for Smith, as he will also play in the New South Wales Open Golf Championship .
Smith’s schedule includes teeing off at Nudgee Golf Club on October 31 for the Queensland PGA. Then, he heads to Murray Down for the NSW Open from November 14-17 before wrapping up at Royal Queensland on November 21. Just outside Brisbane, Royal Queensland Golf Club will host the 2023 Olympic golf events when the Games come to Australia.
Upcoming Tournaments:
This year, however, it will be home to the Australian PGA where Smith, a three-time winner, will compete alongside Jason Day and defending champion Min Woo Lee. “Coming home to Queensland is a highlight of my year,” Smith said. “It’s always special to be back playing in front of my family, friends and all the golf fans and hopefully being up near the lead.”
Playing both Brisbane tournaments is new for him but something he’s eagerly anticipating. He knows winning both would be tough given the strong fields but believes playing at Nudgee will prepare him well for Royal Queensland and give him a good shot at reclaiming the Joe Kirkwood Cup.

Fans might think it’s exciting that Smith keeps returning home to play after his LIV season ends. Last year wasn’t great for him; he missed the cut after shooting 73-78 at Royal Queensland during the Australian PGA.
While he hasn’t won any individual titles on LIV Golf this year, he did finish second three times and secured two team wins with Ripper GC. His best major finish was T6 at The Masters amidst mixed results throughout 2022.
It’s still unclear if he’ll join the ISPA Handa Australian Open later in November—a mixed event held across Kingston Heath and Victoria golf clubs in Melbourne.
What do you think about Cameron’s chances this time?
