Once fierce rivals, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau have now joined forces for LIV Golf, leaving their past disagreements behind. Koepka admits he was “a bit stubborn” in his earlier judgments about DeChambeau. Next week, they will represent LIV Golf at The Crypto.com Showdown in Las Vegas against Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy from the PGA Tour.
Their rivalry became famous after a video showed Koepka rolling his eyes when DeChambeau walked by during an interview at the 2021 PGA Championship. They later hugged it out after winning the Ryder Cup together and even starred in ‘The Match’ to capitalize on their feud’s popularity. But now, Koepka acknowledges that his initial harsh views of DeChambeau were mistaken.
“Look, we all get older, we all mature a little bit, and then you realize, hey, Bryson’s a good dude,” said Koepka. He added that spending more time with DeChambeau at LIV Golf helped mend their relationship.

Koepka explained that joining LIV Golf led to more open communication between them. “We were forced – well, I don’t want to say forced,” he mentioned during a conference call promoting The Showdown. Fans might find this change surprising yet refreshing.
DeChambeau echoed these sentiments and shared how social media has boosted his profile since joining LIV. “I’ve always had respect for Brooks,” he said, acknowledging their early misunderstandings but noting how they’ve found common ground like “stepbrothers.”
Their newfound camaraderie will be tested at Shadow Creek during The Showdown as they face off against McIlroy and Scheffler, who are favored to win for the PGA Tour.
