Augusta National is dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
The storm hit Florida’s Big Bend region early Friday, bringing heavy rain and winds up to 70mph. It caused trees to fall, damaged homes, left many without power, and reportedly killed at least 42 people.
Georgia’s Augusta was also badly affected by the storm on Friday, leaving over 200,000 residents without electricity. Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley said they are assessing the damage at the golf club and expressed his sympathy for those impacted.
“Our Augusta community has suffered catastrophic and historic impact from Hurricane Helene,” Ridley stated. “We currently are assessing the effects at Augusta National Golf Club.”
Meanwhile, he emphasized that their priority is supporting staff, neighbors, and local business owners in Augusta during this challenging time.
Fans might think it’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
Impact on Augusta National:
The full extent of the damage to Augusta National remains unclear. Social media posts show fallen trees on Washington Road near the club and a video on X showing Rae’s Creek overflowing close to holes 11 and 12.
First responders reported that fallen trees have damaged houses, cars, and roads in the area.

Last year during the Masters tournament, strong winds caused three trees near hole 16 to fall close to spectators, halting play for the day.
The next Masters tournament is set for April next year at Augusta National.
