Owen Wilson is taking a swing at golf comedy in a new Apple TV+ series that’s teeing up for a summer release.

The 10-episode show, called “Stick,” will debut on June 4th with its first three episodes. New episodes will drop weekly until the finale on July 23rd.

Wilson, who’s actually a huge golf fan in real life, plays Pryce Cahill – a down-on-his-luck former pro golfer who’s lost his marriage and his job at a sporting goods store. But things take an interesting turn when he becomes a mentor to a troubled 17-year-old golf prodigy.

The show’s bringing some serious star power from the real golf world too. PGA Tour stars Keegan Bradley, Wyndham Clark, Max Homa, and Collin Morikawa will all make appearances.

And that’s not all. Legendary broadcaster Jim Nantz, Trevor Immelman, and popular golf personalities from Barstool Sports and Good Good will pop up throughout the series.

“It’s a heartfelt, feel-good comedy about a found family,” Apple says, promising to show the world of golf in a completely new light.

The series comes from Jason Keller, who wrote “Ford v Ferrari,” so expectations are pretty high.

Golf fans are in for quite a treat this year. Before “Stick” arrives, they’ll get to binge the third season of Netflix’s “Full Swing” – the popular behind-the-scenes PGA Tour series that returns February 25th.

There’s even more golf entertainment in the works. The long-awaited “Happy Gilmore 2” started filming last fall, and Will Ferrell is reportedly working on a comedy series about the dramatic PGA Tour-LIV Golf split, though no release date has been set for that one yet.

Looks like 2024 is shaping up to be a pretty amazing year for golf on screen.
