Spring is finally here, and Callaway Golf is celebrating with a brilliant new short film that perfectly captures every golfer’s winter struggles.
Tennis legend Andy Murray, who recently traded his racquet for golf clubs, narrates the 70-second “Get Sprung” video with a knowing touch of humor.
“Is there anything worse than a front-room swing or carpet putting?” Murray asks as the film opens with scenes of frustrated golfers stuck indoors during miserable rainy weather.
But things quickly brighten up. The video shifts to sunny spring scenes that’ll have every golfer itching to get back on the course.
It’s a clever celebration of what every player goes through during those long winter months – practicing in living rooms, watching golf on TV, and desperately waiting for better weather.
The film features some of Callaway’s biggest UK golf creators, including the ForeBrothers (Patrick, Ronan and Declan Moloney), Inci Mehmet, Trey Niven, and George Blackshaw. They all perfectly capture that universal feeling of being trapped inside when all you want to do is play.
Two-time major winner Xander Schauffele makes a special appearance too, though he’s shown enjoying perfect golfing weather – something that might make European golfers just a bit jealous.
Murray’s involvement comes after his recent signing with Callaway. The three-time Grand Slam champion had already hinted at his growing love for golf last year when he changed his X (formerly Twitter) bio to read: “I played tennis. I now play golf.”
The timing couldn’t be better, with clocks moving forward across Europe and golfers everywhere getting ready for longer days and better weather.
For anyone who’s ever stared longingly at their clubs during winter or practiced their putting on the living room carpet, this film hits exactly the right note.
