Pro golfer Adam Hadwin had a rough couple of days at the Genesis Invitational, but his wife Jessica turned his struggles into Valentine’s Day gold.
The Canadian pro’s tournament went off the rails Thursday when he shot an eye-watering 11-over par 83 in the opening round. We’re talking 10 bogeys and a double-bogey, with just one lonely birdie to show for his efforts.
Things got a bit better on Friday when he managed a one-under 71. But by then, the damage was done – he missed the cut by five shots.
Enter Jessica Hadwin, who decided her husband needed some cheering up on Valentine’s Day. She got creative with his brutal Thursday scorecard, turning it into a series of Valentine’s memes.
“This scorecard isn’t attractive but you are!” she wrote on a heart-filled graphic featuring his first-round disaster.
Jessica had actually been live-commenting on his rough round as it happened. “I’m getting legitimately scared to refresh the PGA Tour app anymore,” she posted at one point. She even celebrated when he finally hit a fairway.
“Got to go get all my posts and replies deleted before he sees them,” she joked later.
But she wasn’t done yet. Jessica revealed she’d made several more Valentine’s memes from his scorecard but couldn’t share them all. “I’d post more, but I fear my family might see them,” she explained.
It’s the kind of loving support every golfer needs after a tough day on the course – especially during one of the PGA Tour’s signature events at Torrey Pines.
Sometimes the best medicine for a bad round is a good laugh with someone who loves you, terrible scorecard and all.
