2024 Performance of Relegated LIV Golfers

The 2023 LIV Golf season saw its first relegations, with Sihwan Kim, Chase Koepka, Jediah Morgan, and James Piot leaving after finishing in the Drop Zone.

They were replaced by three from the inaugural LIV Golf Promotions event and International Series winner Andy Ogletree. So what have these four been up to since their contracts ended?

Sihwan Kim

Kim finished last in the 2023 standings. He tried to regain his spot through the LIV Golf Promotions event but didn’t make it. Since then, he’s played on both the Asian Tour and KPGA Tour with mixed results. Out of seven events this year, he missed three cuts but managed a T13 finish at July’s International Series Morocco event.

Chase Koepka

Koepka was part of Smash GC with his brother Brooks in 2023. His highlight was a hole-in-one at LIV Golf Adelaide, where he also had his best finish of 24th place. However, he ended up 48th overall. After being relegated, Brooks said it was unclear what Chase’s next steps would be: “I’d love to have him again… but that’s up to him.” Initially eager to return via the Promotions event, Chase later withdrew without explanation and hasn’t played any world-ranking events this year .

Fans might wonder if he’ll ever make a comeback.

Jediah Morgan

Morgan played for Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC in 2023 but finished 46th individually. He attempted to stay on through the Promotions event but only placed 18th as top three were promoted. Since then, he’s been active on the PGA Tour of Australasia and Asian Tour with some success—T4 at Vic Open and T27 at International Series Oman among them.

James Piot

Piot’s two-year run with LIV ended after finishing 47th in individual standings and failing past round two of Promotions event. In February, he told Mirror Sport: “Playing in past two seasons with LIV was coolest part of my life… I really want to get back there.” He’s aiming for a return via Asian Tour’s International Series which offers a contract to its winner; however currently sitting at 92nd makes it unlikely this year.

What do you think about their journeys?
