2024 Open Favorites Best Record

Scottie Scheffler is the top pick to win the 152nd Open.

With six wins in the US this year, he’s aiming for his second Major of 2024 and third overall. Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau are also strong contenders.

Rory McIlroy, who finished second at the US Open last month, is another favorite. He has a stellar record with 14 starts in The Open, including one win and six other top-10 finishes .

Scottie Scheffler – 9/2 (+450)

Scheffler has competed in three Opens, with his best finish being T8th at Royal St George’s in 2021. Although The Open is currently his weakest Major, he’s expected to be a serious contender this year.

Fans might think it’s exciting to see if he can finally clinch it this time around.

Rory McIlroy – 9/1 (+900)

McIlroy won the Claret Jug at Royal Liverpool in 2014 and nearly did it again at St Andrews in 2022 but was overtaken by Cameron Smith. His experience makes him a strong candidate to bounce back from past disappointments and secure his fifth Major title. He also finished T5th at Troon in 2016.

Bryson DeChambeau – 14/1 (+1400)

DeChambeau has only one top-10 finish at The Open (St Andrews, 2022) but remains a formidable player given his performance in other Majors this year. Can he grab the Claret Jug? Definitely!

Xander Schauffele – 14/1 (+1400)

Schauffele has made the cut every time he’s played The Open and was T2nd at Carnoustie in 2018. With two recent top-20 finishes, he’s poised for another strong showing now that he’s a Major champion.

Ludvig Aberg – 18/1 (+1800)

Despite never playing an Open before, Aberg is among the favorites due to impressive performances like finishing second on his Masters debut and almost winning his first US Open. A victory would make him follow fellow Swede Henrik Stenson’s footsteps—no big shock there!

Collin Morikawa – 22/1 (+2200)

Morikawa won The Open on his debut at Royal St George’s in 2021 but missed cuts afterward. However, with solid finishes (T3-T4-T14) across three Majors this year, he could very well claim another Claret Jug soon.

What do you think about these predictions? Do you agree or have your own favorites?
